Signed-in Devices
Every device signed in to your ZestSSH account appears in Profile > Devices. You can see what each one is, sign out a device you no longer use, or sign out everywhere if a device is lost or you think someone else signed in.
Signed-in devices is a free feature for every signed-in account.
What the list shows
Section titled “What the list shows”Each device shows:
- Its platform: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS.
- When it signed in.
- This device on the one you are holding.
That is all ZestSSH keeps about a device. No hostname, device model, OS or app version, IP address or “last active” time is sent or stored, so two computers on the same platform can look alike: “This device” and the sign-in dates tell them apart.
Devices running a ZestSSH version from before this feature don’t appear in the list. Sign out everywhere reaches them too.
Sign out one device
Section titled “Sign out one device”- Open Profile > Devices.
- Choose Sign out next to the device.
- Confirm.
The server refuses that device from then on, and the app on it signs out the next time it connects. Hosts and keys stored on that device stay there, protected by its own App Lock and encryption.
Sign out everywhere
Section titled “Sign out everywhere”Sign out everywhere signs out every device, this one included, and every device has to sign in again. It also:
- refuses any sign-in made before that moment, including devices on older ZestSSH versions;
- ends your Google sign-ins, so a phone or tablet cannot quietly sign itself back in.
Use it if a device is lost or stolen, or if you think someone else signed in to your account. If Google cannot be reached, ZestSSH still signs every device out and asks you to repeat it later, so phones cannot sign back in.
You may be asked to sign in again
Section titled “You may be asked to sign in again”Signing out another device, or every device, needs a sign-in from the last few minutes. If yours is older, ZestSSH asks you to sign in again first. This way a stolen device that is still signed in cannot sign you out of your own account.
A device can always sign itself out with Sign out of this device.
When this device is signed out from elsewhere
Section titled “When this device is signed out from elsewhere”If another of your devices signs this one out, ZestSSH signs out here and tells you. Your hosts, keys and settings stay on the device. Sign in again to use your account.
Things to know
Section titled “Things to know”- Signing out does not erase a device. It ends access to your account. Data already on the device stays behind its App Lock and at-rest encryption.
- Phones and tablets stop the moment they next contact ZestSSH Cloud. For a phone you no longer have, use Sign out everywhere: it also ends the phone’s Google sign-in.
- Desktop sign-ins last 30 days, then drop off the list on their own.
