Plans & Limits
Plans, Pricing, and Limits
Section titled “Plans, Pricing, and Limits”The one page that answers “how much does ZestSSH cost, what do I get for free, and what does upgrading add?” ZestSSH is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. The free-tier numbers below are the exact limits the app enforces. For current and regional pricing, the in-app Upgrade screen and the app stores are the source of truth.
How much does ZestSSH cost?
Section titled “How much does ZestSSH cost?”ZestSSH is free to use, with optional one-time upgrades. There is no monthly or yearly subscription, and nothing you buy ever stops working if you stop paying.
| Tier | Price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, no account needed | The full client for a couple of servers |
| Squeezed | $9.99 one-time | The full app, limits removed, lifetime updates |
| Juiced | $24.99 one-time | Optional hosted, encrypted sync (on top of Free or Squeezed) |
| Squeezed + Juiced bundle | $29.99 one-time | Both at once, a $4.99 saving |
Think of it as two decisions, not four products: first pick the app (Free or Squeezed), then optionally add sync. Sync itself is free on storage you already control (WebDAV, S3, Google Drive, or a self-hosted server); Juiced is only for people who would rather ZestSSH host the encrypted store for them.
Free tier limits
Section titled “Free tier limits”ZestSSH is genuinely useful for free. These are the only hard limits:
| Limit | Free | Paid (Squeezed) |
|---|---|---|
| Saved connections | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Concurrent active sessions | 4 on desktop, 2 on mobile | Unlimited |
| Terminal themes | 3 | All |
| Monitored hosts (Server Monitor) | 5 | Unlimited |
A few things people ask about specifically:
- Saving connections is never capped. You can store as many hosts, keys, and networks as you like on the free tier. The only session limit is how many can be open and connected at the same time (4 desktop / 2 mobile).
- Terminal themes: 3 of the built-in themes are free; the rest, plus the custom theme designer, come with Squeezed.
- Server Monitor: you can turn on agentless monitoring for up to 5 hosts free. Beyond that, extra hosts show an “upgrade to monitor” note and are not polled.
Everything else on the free tier is unmetered: SSH, SFTP, Telnet, Mosh, the local shell, snippets, networks and per-host overrides, and the built-in tools all work without a paid plan.
What the paid tiers add
Section titled “What the paid tiers add”ZestSSH is a one-time purchase. No subscriptions.
Squeezed (Pro), $9.99 one-time
Section titled “Squeezed (Pro), $9.99 one-time”Lifts the free-tier limits and unlocks the power-user features:
- Unlimited concurrent sessions (removes the 4 desktop / 2 mobile cap).
- All terminal themes plus the custom theme designer.
- Unlimited monitored hosts.
- Port forwarding (local, remote, and dynamic/SOCKS forwards).
- Jump-host routing (the “Connect Via” bastion chain used by Jump Hosts and Network overrides).
- Lifetime updates, and the rest of the Pro feature set shown on the Upgrade screen.
Juiced (Cloud), $24.99 one-time
Section titled “Juiced (Cloud), $24.99 one-time”Optional hosted, end-to-end encrypted sync of your connections, keys, snippets, and settings across devices, for people who do not want to run their own storage. Sync to your own storage is free on every tier, including Free, so you only need Juiced if you want ZestSSH to host the encrypted store. Juiced is bought on top of Free or Squeezed; the Squeezed + Juiced bundle is $29.99.
How do I upgrade?
Section titled “How do I upgrade?”Open the app and go to the Upgrade screen (or the Get Squeezed / Get Juiced button), or buy from the pricing page on the website. Purchases are handled through your platform’s normal store (Google Play, the App Store, or the web checkout) using the account you already have, so there is no separate ZestSSH account to create just to buy. A purchase is tied to that store account and restores on your other devices with Restore Purchases.
Common questions about cost and upgrading
Section titled “Common questions about cost and upgrading”- Is ZestSSH free or paid? Both. It is free to use with real, usable limits, and paid upgrades are optional and one-time.
- What purchases are there? What can I buy? What are the in-app purchases? Two one-time purchases and a bundle, nothing else: Squeezed ($9.99, the Pro tier), Juiced ($24.99, hosted end-to-end encrypted Cloud Sync), or both together as the bundle ($29.99). The tier sections above list exactly what each one includes. There is nothing to rent and no subscription to manage.
- Can I get a refund? Refunds go through wherever you bought: Google Play or the App Store apply their own normal refund rules, because the purchase is on your store account rather than with ZestSSH directly, and a web checkout purchase goes through ZestSSH support.
- Is there a subscription? No. Every paid tier is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates. Nothing stops working if you stop paying.
- How much is the upgrade / how much does it cost to upgrade? Squeezed is $9.99 one-time. Hosted sync (Juiced) is $24.99. Both together are $29.99.
- Is this a paid app? No, it is free to download and use. Paying is optional and only removes the free-tier caps or adds hosted sync.
- Do I have to pay for sync? No. Sync to your own storage (WebDAV, S3, Google Drive, self-hosted) is free on every tier. You only pay for Juiced if you want ZestSSH to host the encrypted store.
- Can I buy it once instead of subscribing? Yes, that is the only way it is sold. There is no subscription option.
Where these limits show up in the docs
Section titled “Where these limits show up in the docs”Individual feature pages each carry a short “Free tier vs Pro” note for their own capability (Port Forwarding, Server Monitor, Jump Hosts, and Per-Host Overrides). This page is the canonical summary; if a feature page and this page ever disagree, trust the in-app Upgrade screen. For current and regional prices, the Upgrade screen and the app stores are authoritative.
